Still Going! Week 2 Hammer & Chisel

This week the Hammer and Chisel program continued with a different workout each day and on two days there was a 10 minute ab workout also. One is Ab Chisel with Autumn and the other is Ab Hammer with Sagi. I have done abs with Autumn before – we go way back! lol

The workouts continue to be 30 to 40 minutes in length with a combination of resistance movements and weight training with repetitions and in some cases a step up in weights over the repetitions. I’m still working between 8-12 lb weights, but did assemble some 15’s just in case. For Hammer Conditioning I used a 5lb today, and I didn’t feel bad because Sagi was using an 8 pounder. It’s nice to have the range of weights! Still can’t do a pull-up but definitely stronger. Chisel balance is a great one, but still a struggle for me to keep my balance during some of the movements.

I can feel a difference in my upper thighs on the outer and inner thigh. The area is smoother and there is less movement when I’m walking 😉 They mention in the 21 Day Fix Exteme that it’s the hamstring that affects the lift for the buttocks. H&C definitely works the hamstrings!

My nutrition was so-so this week. I was able to keep to the containers with the food I had prepped, but definitely had trouble with that sweet tooth! I’m down 5.5 pounds so far, but the real victory is the physical change I can feel and see when I look down!

I fresh prepared the Almond Crusted Chicken and Smoked Salmon with Poached Eggs this week as two new dishes. I enjoyed both! This week, I’m looking forward to making Mixed Veggie Soup and having a salad meal with the Miso Ginger Dressing I made today!

Looking forward to week 3! It will be a busy week with the Christmas holiday and I’m sure it will be full of temptations. I will do my best to make wise choices, but I am also glad I have the 3 day refresh on hand for between Christmas and New Year’s Eve!
